Strategy Wins.

The Next Goal Wins bidding system is designed to reward the strategic thinker. There are settings that allow you to configure the auction to your liking, but you are encouraged to have hidden auctions. You bid for a player and no one else will know you are winning. You put a proxy bid in stating how much you are willing to pay and no one knows what that amount is. With a 5 minute timeout after each bid, managers cannot keep incrementing their bids little by little until they are winning. All bids need to be considered as to what you are willing to pay for that player.

Sniping is also prevented. There is no waiting until last minute and outbidding the current highest bidder. If you are outbid then the auction rolls over for another 24 hours giving the outbid manager time to consider a higher bid and make their response.

Heavy Customisation.

But what if you don't like the 24 hour rollover, or the budget each manager starts with? What if you don't like how many points are awarded for a player's real life action?

Next Goal Wins allows lots of customisation. You can configure the auctions to your liking, including the key dates. You can configure how much a player scores for many different actions. This is your league. You decide the rules.
